Jayant Kulkarni
Executive Director, Conservation in Wildlife Research and Conservation Society
Jayant is a former Indian Forest Service officer. His main interests are forest and habitat conservation, wildlife conservation through people’s participation, and policy issues of wildlife and forest conservation. His current interest includes conservation of private forests and planning for wildlife conservation in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra.

Gopakumar Menon

Gopa enjoys doing a number of things, often unrelated to each other and values meeting interesting people; folks who see meaning in enriching the quality of others’ lives. He has a PGDM from IIM Bangalore (1991), after which he worked as an investment professional over a eleven-year period. Since 2002, he has been co-managing Navgati, and enjoys teaching and mentoring. He is an alumnus (2001) of the Beahrs Environment Leadership Programme run by University of California, Berkeley and the founder of The Root Cause Initiative, an effort to get win-win responses to conservation and environmental issues (www.gopakumar-rootcause.blogspot.com).

Peeyush is an Architect by training with a M. Arch in Mud Architecture and DEA in geography from the Doctoral School of Geography Paris I - IV. He is based in Delhi and works as an independent consultant and researcher, broadly in Disaster Management, Climate Change and Natural Resource Management. His special interests are in the natural environment and the use of design in conservation.

Akhila is keenly interested in the environmental sciences and has worked on various conservation and environment projects. She also enjoys trekking and other outdoor activities that test her endurance and feed her adventurous spirit. She is a certified SCUBA diver and loves exploring the ever changing canvas of the sea.

Raju Damu Jhadhav
Project driver, field-help, and master-chef
Raju Jadhav, fondly called Raju Bhau, originally hails from a village near Jalna. He has over ten years of driving experience and enjoys his time in the forest. He is an avid trekker and has a good knowledge of trees. He is indispensable when it comes to camp cooking.
